Hi, Jasmine — website copywriter & marketer for service providers + coaches looking to book more dream clients via their website.

Copycat Studios’ First Website Copy In A Week Case Study

Did you hear the news? I’m now offering website copy in a week!

This pivot has been a long time coming but is something that feels SO GOOD. You know when you start doing something, and you’re like, “I can’t believe I wasn’t doing this the whole time!” Yeah, it’s that feeling on steroids.

Why?

Because I bloody love my job, and anything I can do to better the client experience and improve my work is a huge WIN.

Before I dive deep into this dreaaaamy project, I want to share why I decided to make this pivot in my services.
Copycat Studios was calling out for change

It’s been a whirlwind year at Copycat Studios HQ. And as a one-man-brand, it falls to me to make all decisions. Running my own business is the biggest joy of my life (besides my two kitties, of course). However, sometimes calling the shots, knowing the next move, and moving the needle alone can be tough. I knew it was time for a change, but I wasn’t exactly sure what.

I’ve been working with the incredible Her HQ, and it was co-CEO, Hollie, who suggested I hone in on my services and cut down my delivery time.

The result: website copy in a week.

One price. One service. One industry. One week.

Madness, right?

Initially, that’s what I thought.

I’d been completing projects with a four-week turnaround before.

But here’s the thing: I’d given myself four weeks for a job I was doing in just seven days! The three-week buffer was a fear buffer.

Due to processes, systems, and my type A personality, I’d complete the work but give myself ample time to second-guess, worry, and wait around.

I was already doing the work in seven days! I just wasn’t allowing my clients to benefit from this turnaround time.

Now, seven days allow me to fully immerse myself in the project, think about your business like it’s my own, and create copy that has 100% of my attention and dedication.

It’s been incredible.

I had the privilege of working with Nikki from The Intentional Coach and Bermuda Brides for my first website copy in a week project. She was the best possible client for this new direction, and I am immensely thankful she trusted me and worked with me on this project. Together, we create five pages of website copy for Nikki’s new coaching business. Although she was initially uncertain due to her clients being women 50 and over, she trusted my knowledge, skill, and knack for brand voice development, and I am so thankful she did. The Intentional Coach website copy is among the best work I’ve ever done (seriously soooo good), and I can’t wait to share it with you all.

Before we get to that, I’m going to break down this project point-by-point to help you understand the website copy in a week process and guide you if you’re making some changes in your business and services.

The timeframe

When Hollie suggested doing website copy in a week, my initial thoughts went to Monday-Friday. Despite owning my business, I’m very traditional with my work structure. I’m writing this at my desk on a Monday morning for reference. The weekends are precious to me, and I only ever do content creation jobs on Saturdays and Sundays.

However, five days was a super quick turnaround. Although it didn’t influence the quality of the work, I think adding two days will give me that anxiety buffer I crave on a much smaller, more practical level. However, Friday-Friday doesn’t suit my ideal client’s schedule. As Friday is a popular day for events, website copy in a week will now be Monday to Monday.

The pre-work

Nikki and I were on an unusually tight schedule; a client of mine pulled out the day before. I knew Nikki had a VIP day with her designer scheduled, so I knew she’d be happy to bring the project forward.

Client agreements, invoices, and my very lengthy yet thorough client questionnaire bombarded Nikki’s inbox almost instantly. Lucky for me, she’s used to the reckless emailing of stressed-out brides, so my emails were welcomed and addressed instantly.

She’d signed the agreement, secured her spot with the 50% deposit, and filled out her questionnaire, ready for our kick-off call the next day.

Kick-off & Walk-through calls

Monday afternoon, we had our kick-off call where we talked through my questions and Nikki (very helpfully) gushed about this exciting new chapter. By the end of our call, I knew Nikki’s mission, vision, and purpose just as well as her.

Our deadline day was Friday, Nikki’s birthday, which made it extra special. The completed website copy was sent at noon that day, ready for Nikki to read through before our call. Once on the call, we talked through the website copy line-by-line, making minor adjustments to words and phrases. It was on this call that she told me after reading through the first time that her first thought was, “she’s got it”. Which made my heart BURST with joy, seriously welling up over here.

We wrapped up the call just after an hour with lots of laughter, creativity, and excitement throughout. These moments are what make me love my job so.damn.much!

The workflow

I’m Asana fan girl. Honestly, you can rave about Click-up, show me your pretty notion or sing the praises of Google Calander for days on end, Asana is my forever go-to. Every element, process, and system of my business is logged in Asana. And it’s because of this project management tool I can streamline my process and reduce the delivery time.

As I activated the workflow for Nikki’s project, I quickly hopped on Asana and copied my website copy workflow for this new project- quick, simple, and endlessly beneficial.

If you’re not using workflows in your biz, this is your sign to change that!

The week of

My calendar was clear, ready to focus on The Intentional Coaches website copy only. If you’re offering an insense service similar to this, I highly recommend clearing your calendar to avoid confusion, panic, and burnout.

I spent Monday-Thursday inside my mind of Nikki and creating the world of The Intentional Coach. Every day was dedicated to researching, crafting, and editing website copy that balanced Nikki’s personality with her coaching brand and called out to her ideal customer. And it was unbelievably fun.

The website copy in a week outcome

I am so excited to see this new business come to life and for more clients like Nikki to enter my world.

Nikki is an expert when it comes to getting stuff done. She’s a world-renowned wedding planner, after all. It’s no surprise she had a VIP day with her designer already in the books! Currently, The Intentional Coach website copy is getting an equally elevated website to house it. Once it’s live, I’ll link it here and do an in-depth case study. For now, I can leave you with Nikki’s incredibly kind and genuine words about working with Copycat Studios.

I was a little nervous to begin with as I was not sure that Jasmine and Copycat Studio’s would or even could capture my voice. I think I should worry about global warming instead. They got it in one!
